Natural Resources Canada’s new Codes Acceleration Fund offers $100M in funding opportunities for projects geared towards accelerating the implementation of high performance building codes.
There are two streams for this program funding:
Stream 1: Provinces, territories, municipalities, Indigenous governments and communities with the authority to adopt energy codes – to support their efforts to accelerate code adoption, and to address gaps in code compliance and enforcement in their jurisdiction.
Stream 2: Organizations that do not have authority to adopt energy codes. This includes various for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, as well as jurisdictions that do not have the authority to adopt codes, such as certain municipalities – to support projects that contribute to code adoption, compliance, and enforcement, either within a single jurisdiction, or preferably on a broader scale.
The application period closes March 27, 2023. Indigenous applicants have until March 31, 2025, to submit proposals.
